Eight games were scheduled to be played last night, and it was if Mother Nature and Cupid conspired to keep husbands at home, as a February blizzard blew through the province. In all, six games were nixed, while two went ahead.
In Edam, an eight point night (4G, 4A) by Dinsmore sniper, Carter Thompson, lead the way as the Dynamos beat the 3-Stars 9-8 in overtime. Game one in this series ended in a 4-4 tie, and as the results indicated, this series could have gone either way.
In the other game, the Eatonia Huskies carried a two goal lead into game two after a 3-1 win in Lumsden. The Huskies scored early and often, and the game was never in doubt as they cruised to a 13-6 win. The victory gave the Huskies the series by a 16-7 count.
